Herewith a complete setout to for licence validation.  This is applicable on all foreign Pilots who need a Namibian Validation for private flying.

Validation:

a) Documents needed:

  • Copy of passport or ID
  • Copy of flying licence
  • Certified Copy of last page of his logbook
  • Copy of radio licence
  • Copy of valid medical, if you are over 40 years of age, your medical must have been done within the past 12 months.  

Please ensure that your medical is translated in English.

b) Check flight on the aircraft, the pilot intents to hire

  • Cost of A/C Hire & Landing fees: See Prices Below
  • Duration: Allow approximately at least one hour for briefing and one hour for flying

c) Radio Exam
We provide the pilot with a radio brochure, which he has to study (preferably before arriving in Namibia), and then do a radio exam with an ATC (theory & practical).  

  • Cost of test: N$50.00
  • Duration of test: Approximately one and a half hour.  We will book a radio exam before your arrival in Namibia with an ATC.

d) Airlaw exam must be done at the WFTC. Study material will be mailed.

e) Obtaining Validation from DCA Namibia
After the above-mentioned procedure is finalised , the pilot can hand his Application for Validation in at the DCA to apply for the Pilot’s Validation.  

  • Cost: N$104.50
  • Duration: Please allow approximately two working days for the administration

Please note that there are minimum hours required before rental of specific aircraft.

IMPORTANT!
  • Rates excluded of 15% VAT.
  • Rates are WET rate (fuel included). Fuel included at Eros Airport price (N$10.78p/l).
  • Landing fees and passenger taxes excluded.  Rates vary at airports.
  • Insurance rates are calculated based on the pilot’s total hours and the hours on the type.
  • Minimum of 2 hours flight time per day. 
  • Flight time will be calculated on the Hobbs reading. (From start-up to shut-down).
  • A deposit of 2 hours per day for the duration of the rental to be paid prior to departure.
  • Payment can be done with cash, cheque or credit card.  An additional 2,5% will be charge for credit card transactions.
  • Flight instructor is available at N$300-00 per hour.
  • Safety Pilot is available at N$160-00 per hour and N$110-00 per day away.  Client to pay all meals as well as accommodation for the safety pilot.
  • Rental on any aircraft will only be granted if the pilot can proof that he has flown this type previously and it’s noted in pilot’s logbook.
